SKC II Preview: Sporting KC II closes three game home stand with North Texas SC on Saturday

Sporting Kansas City II hosts North Texas SC in the third and final match of a three game homestand at Victory Field. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT and the game will air live on the OneFootball app. Tickets are on sale at SeatGeek.com for just $10.

Led by head coach Lee Tschantret, SKC II is still in search of their first win of the season. They picked up an impressive two points on the road against Rapids 2, equalizing twice in the second half before winning in kicks from the spot.

In the shootout win against Colorado, Shane Donovan and Johann Ortiz scored their first goals of 2026. Ortiz also assisted on Donovan goal, giving him two goal contributions on the season, the most on the team. Goalkeeper Jacob Molinaro made three straight saves in the shootout. The former SKC Academy product has started all five of SKC II's games this season, making 14 saves. 

Defender Pierre Lurot has been a mainstay for SKC II early in the 2026 campaign. The second year pro and team captain is the only field player to play every minute so far. 

Amateur defenders Nate Young and Zane Wantland have also been providing consistent minutes on the backline for SKC II. The Academy duo have started three straight matches together, including the draw in Colorado.

North Texas SC is led by third year head coach John Gall, who helped lead the FC Dallas second team to an MLS NEXT Pro Cup Finals win in 2024. They have one win on the season and sit two points ahead of SKC II in the Frontier Division Standings in the Western Conference. Their leading scorer this season is midfielder Edouard Nys who has four goals in four games, tied for second in the league.

Following the two teams' clash at Victory Field, they will meet six days later at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington Texas for another MLS NEXT Pro regular season duel. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT on the OneFootball App and on MLSNEXTPro.com.
