Missael Rodriguez's game-winning free kick nominated for MLS NEXT Pro Goal of Matchweek 20

Sporting Kansas City II forward Missael Rodriguez and his fantastic free kick goal against MNUFC 2 on Sunday night is nominated for MLS NEXT Pro Goal of Matchweek 20.

The 23-year-old's game winner is up against goals from Tacoma Defiance's Mark Bronnick and Rafael Jauregui as well as Real Monarchs' Lionel Djiro. Fans can vote in a poll on MLS NEXT Pro's Instagram over the next 72 hours.

Rodriguez's fifth goal of the campaign came in the 27th minute after Kashan Hines drew a foul at the top of the arc. Rodriguez placed the ball perfectly over the wall and into the upper left corner of the goal to give SKC II a one goal lead. The forward's goal proved to be the only one of the contest and lifted SKC II past MNUFC 2 for their fourth win of the season.

A Chicago native and Chicago Fire Academy alum, Rodriguez has started every match for head coach Lee Tschantret in his first season with Sporting KC II, providing a foreboding presence on the wing and veteran leadership in the locker room. He is tied for the team lead in goals with five and has added one assist.

SKC II and Rodriguez will host Houston Dynamo 2 on Friday, July 31 at 7 p.m. CT. Tickets are on sale at SeatGeek.com and fans can stream the match for free at MLSNEXTPro.com or on the OneFootball app.
