On May 5th, Sporting Kansas City joined forces with Team Smile to host an engaging free dental clinic at Sporting Park. Team Smile's mission is to transform the dental experiences of children in need through the joy of sports, and this collaboration brought that vision to life.
This event marked a revival of a partnership that first began about ten seasons ago, and the excitement to reconnect with the community was palpable. Sporting Kansas City was delighted to provide a welcoming space for students from the Kansas City, Kansas school district to receive essential dental exams and cleanings.
Throughout the day, Team Smile delivered care to over 150 students, many of whom had previously interacted with Sporting's community impact team. But the clinic was about more than just dental care; it was a vibrant celebration!
Kids had a blast hanging out with the team's beloved mascot, Blue, and dancing to tunes spun by Team Smile’s DJ. There were also face painting stations and goodie bags distributed by Sporting KC, filled with surprises.
Each goodie bag included a free ticket for the students to attend a Sporting KC game on May 13th, along with a discount ticket link for their families, making it easier for everyone to join in the fun.
Sporting Kansas City took great pride in working alongside Team Smile to provide valuable resources and memorable experiences for local students, reinforcing their commitment to the community they cherish
