On April 9th, Sporting Kansas City hosted its inaugural "Goal Getters Career Prep Summit" at Sporting Park from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. This event was designed for high school and college students interested in pursuing careers in sports, helping them to develop practical skills for professional success.

The summit was part of the recently launched program, Goal Getters: Sporting KC in the Classroom, which connects students with Sporting Kansas City through two unique experiences: the Stadium Experience and Guest Speaking Opportunity. Both of these initiatives aim to inspire, educate, and motivate students in their career pursuits.

The event was free and extended invitations not only to students from partnered high schools and colleges but also to any interested students.

Attendees had the chance to hear from a panel featuring Chioma Atanmo, Senior Director of Community Impact and The Victory Project, Joe Harig, Director of Ticket Sales, Andrea Kimball, Vice President and General Counsel, and Tyler Amorese, Director of Argyle Events Operations, who shared insights about their career paths, the challenges they faced, and valuable advice for students aspiring to enter the sports industry.

Additionally, participants received personalized resume reviews from Sporting KC staff, who provided constructive feedback and tips to enhance their job search efforts. Students engaged in "case studies" involving real-world scenarios in the sports field, tackling issues such as increasing sales, brand awareness, and marketing to younger demographics. They presented their solutions and received coaching from Sporting KC front office staff to further develop their critical thinking skills.

Chief Marketing Officer Sandra Moore also addressed the students, offering professional development tips to help them stand out in the competitive job market. As a bonus, all attendees received a free ticket to Sporting KC vs. San Jose on April 11.
