Sporting Kansas City returns to the road to take on Supporters' Shield leaders Nashville SC at 7:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday at GEODIS Park.

The mid-week match-up features two teams on opposite ends of the MLS standings as Nashville can clinch the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference with the right mix of results on Matchday 30 while Sporting sits last in the Western Conference and can be officially eliminated from postseason contention for the first time on Wednesday.

Sporting has earned results in three of the team's past five matches after twice rallying from two-goal deficits in a 3-3 draw against the Portland Timbers on Saturday. Andre Luiz scored twice to continue his sensational start with Sporting Kansas City as the Designated Player has eight goal contributions (seven goals, one assist) in his last five games and a league-high seven goals since Sept. 12.

Acquired in a club-record transfer this summer, Andre is the first player in club history to score seven goals in his first seven games and he enters NSHvSKC with the longest active scoring streak in MLS. The 24-year-old Brazilian will now look to become the first Western Conference player to score in six straight games this season -- and only the second individual in club history to do so -- as he faces a Nashville SC side that boasts the best defense in Major League Soccer with just 21 goals conceded in 28 games.

The Nashville defense is anchored by MLS All-Star Brian Schwake, who recently earned his first two appearances with the U.S. Men's National Team and leads all MLS goalkeepers with 12 shutouts this season. Offensively, the Nashville attack features the Designated Player trio of Sam Surridge (16 goals, two assists), Hany Mukhtar (14 goals, seven assists) and Cristian Espinoza (four goals, 13 assists).

Led by head coach B.J. Callaghan, Nashville has a club-record 23 wins in all competitions this year and is currently on pace to break the MLS single-season points record (74). Nashville has the best home-field advantage in Major League Soccer, going unbeaten in 14 regular season matches at GEODIS Park (13-0-1) -- including nine straight wins -- while scoring the most goals (41) and conceding the fewest (12) of any team in MLS at home this year.

Notably, Sporting handed Nashville SC their first ever defeat in the stadium in the club's only previous road trip to GEODIS Park on June 19, 2022. While Sporting hasn't played Nashville SC since 2023, Sporting KC centerback Wyatt Meyer is set to return to Nashville after spending his rookie season there in 2025 and helping the club claim its first trophy as winners of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with Meyer scoring his first professional goal in the tournament.

Wednesday's cross-conference clash will be available to watch in English (Tony Husband and Ross Smith) and Spanish (Moises Linares) on Apple TV in addition to local radio coverage on Sports Radio 810 WHB (Blake Aerni and Jon Kempin) and La Grande 1340 AM (Josue Orantes and Diego Gutierrez) with audio streams in the SKC mobile app. All of the action will also be shown in pub partners across the Sporting Pub Network.
