Last Saturday, Jason Hernandez of the San Jose Earthquakes picked up a red card for a nasty, off-ball shot to the neck of rookie striker Teal Bunbury. Hernandez today received an additional fine and one-game suspension from the MLS Disciplinary Committee for the play.
Saturday, the New England Revolution visit CommunityAmerica Ballpark for the only time in 2010. New England midfielder Khano Smith, back with the Revs after stints with Seattle Sounders FC, the New York Red Bulls and Lincoln City (England) also received a red card against Kansas City late in the 2008 season for a vicious challenge on Herculez Gomez.
