Which Major League Soccer team has the most vocal supporters? ESPN has previously recognized Sporting Kansas City as the "Loudest Supporters Section" and now Newsweek is asking its readers to decide the "Loudest MLS Home Pitch."
The poll is part of the magazine's Fans' Choice Awards and Children's Mercy Park is one of 20 nominees determined by Newsweek editors with contributions from a panel of journalists and sports fans.
"Blue comes alive at Children's Mercy Park," Newsweek writes. "Sporting Kansas City fans are fiercely loyal and relentlessly loud, transforming every match into a sea of sound known as 'Blue Hell.' With a track record of sellout crowds and an atmosphere that rattles visiting teams, this stadium shows that size doesn't matter—passion does. It's pure Midwestern pride, dialed all the way up."
Fans can vote once per day in each Fans' Choice Awards category -- including neighboring Kansas Speedway for Best NASCAR Cup Series Venue -- and voting will end at 11 a.m. CT on June 25 with the winners to be announced on July 2.
