Academy Assistant Coach
JAKE SMITH joined the Sporting Kansas City Academy after logging seven years of coaching experience, including stops at Missouri Baptist University and Lou Fusz Athletic Academy. After playing collegiate ball at both Missouri Baptist University and South Dakota School of Mines, Smith returned to his alma mater, Missouri Baptist, as a Graduate Assistant.
Smith earned two years of valuable experience before taking on the role of Academy Head Coach with Lou Fusz Athletic, an MLS NEXT Elite Academy in St. Louis, Missouri. A Texas native, he grew up in Colorado and is now a part of the SKC Academy technical staff after five years of coaching in MLS NEXT.
He has earned both a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a Master of Science in Sport Management and is currently in pursuit of his USSF National A License.
